I am an Assistant Professor in Linguistics at the Department of English Studies, University of Cyprus. I hold a PhD and an MPhil in Linguistics (Phonetics) from the University of Cambridge and a BA in Classics from the University of Cyprus. My publications in international journals and edited volumes lie mainly in the fields of phonetics, phonology, sociolinguistics, and clinical linguistics. My research activities (conference presentations and proceedings, participation in research programmes, BA and MA thesis supervision) have also expanded to other areas, such as grapholinguistics, language documentation and revitalisation, and second language acquisition. Focal points of my work have been the study of Cypriot Greek and Cypriot Arabic, but I have also worked on Standard Modern Greek, Pontic Greek, English, and French. I am currently a board member of the Cyprus Linguistics Society (CyLing) and an appointed member of the Cyprus Permanent Committee for the Standardisation of Geographical Names (ΜΚΕΤΓΟ). Finally, I am the Coordinator of the “Cy[Φ]” (pronounced [ˈsaɪ̯ ˈfaɪ̯]) Phonetics Lab, Department of English Studies, University of Cyprus.
