Report of AW’s Leominster lecture #2

View

There is a fuller account of this lecture by Watkins in cutting 97c.

British Trackways.—Mr. Alfred Watkins. of Hereford, certainly gave the Priory Church Organ Fund a good “lift” by visiting Leominster on Wednesday evening to deliver in the Corn Exchange Hall his very popular, interesting, and instructive lantern lecture entitled “Early British Trackways.” Mr. T. Neild briefly introduced the lecturer, stating that Mr. Watkins was known not only in Leominster, but throughout the world for his photographic work, etc. During an interval some excellent instrumental music was provided by Mr. H. E. Crimp (piano), and Miss Mary Sandiland, L.R.A.M., and Mrs. Paxton (violins). Mr. Crimp and Miss B. Powell were deservedly encored for their songs, and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded, on the motion of the Vicar, to Mr. Neild, Mr. Watkins, the artists, and Mr. C. H. Harvey, to whom they were indebted for carrying out the arrangements.
