Journal of Geomancy vol. 2 no. 1, October 1977

The present interest in ley-line studies largely stems from the researches of UFO observers in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Aimé Michel and others noticed that UFOs often are seen to travel in straight lines, and these paths or ORTHOTENIES were equated with the leys of Alfred Watkins. A new magazine, Pulsar, published by the Preston Ufological and Leyographical Society and Expedition (PULSE), has been started to investigate and document the connexion between landscape geometry and UFO sightings, correlating already-investigated UFO sightings with ley-lines and terrestrial zodiacs. Membership of PULSE, with subscription to Pulsar, is £2·50 per annum.

V.I. Sanarov, of the Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine of the Soviet Academy of Medical Sciences, Novosibirsk, U.S.S.R. recently sent to I.G.R. for a copy of Michael Behrend’s “Landscape Geometry of Southern Britain”. We often hear rumours of ESP, UFO and other ‘fringe’ research being carried out in the Soviet Union, but we didn’t realize they were interested in geomancy, or that the IGR’s fame has spread that far already!
