Her uncle was Charles Joseph Osman. He was baptised at St. Mark's Kennington on 10th July 1850.
Charles Joseph Osman married Laura Esther TOMKINS in Hillsborough, Albert County, N.B. on 23rd August 1877. The 1880 census shows Charles aged 30, his wife aged 24 and a daughter Mary aged 2. He was Company Manager and Shareholder of the Canadian Gypsum Mill at Hillsborough. He bought over 200 acres of land there in 1885 (see Provincial Archives of New Brunswick) and was still living there in 1896 according to McAlpine's New Brunswick Directory for 1896. He died on 13th April 1922 at home in Albert County. He is buried along with his wife (who died on 20th July 1925) in the cemetery of St. Mary's Anglican Church in Hillsborough, N.B. Their 2 children, Conrad Joseph (1897-1948) and Mary Sophia (1879-1895), are also buried there, as are several other Tompkins.
His death is mentioned in the Anglican Church Synod Journals for New Brunswick:

This committee [deceased members committee] desires to place on record its deep sense of loss in the death of the late Honourable Charles J Osman and its appreciation of his unfailing interest and devotion to the work of the church in this Diocese. His gentleness and unvarying courtesy, his kindliness and great charm of manner, with his open-handed generousity, endeared him to a large circle of friends. For some years he discharged the office of speaker in the Local Assembly [provincial government] of this province. On several occassion he was elected by his fellow parishioners as a delegate to this synod and although never able to take his place as a delegate on the floors of the Synod, he was always interested in the welfare of the Diocese and as a church warden of St. Mary's Hillsborough, showed keenest interest in and gave a generous support to the churches work in Albert County.
