| NOTES. | All activities were joint ones except where otherwise indicated by the initials ‘R’ and ‘J’.
The activity of writing, however, refers to myself only. We often wrote simultaneously but John
frequently read or otherwise amused himself whilst I sat scribbling. Titles of films, and subjects of discussion (which were one of the most enjoyable features of the leave notwithstanding the fact that we invariably failed to reach any agreements) have been noted for personal reminiscence. |
