THIS PHOTOGRAPH was taken from the roof of the houseboat looking eastwards. The road runs right round the lakes covering a distance of some 20 miles. The lake narrows in the middle distance of the photograph but widens and extends four miles to the east. All our swimming was done from boats moored about half a mile beyond the limit of the lake seen in this snap. A good impression of the lake (which is Dal Lake, by the way, and the highest in the world) and of the surrounding country can be gained from this view.
