{147} Map 1: The fortified settlement in Prague with the pagan sacred site “Zizi”, on which arise St Mary’s church, St George’s church and monastery, and, as the first stone building, the church of St Wenceslas. Close by, in 993, Vojtěch (Adalbert) of the Slavnik family founds the Benedictine monastery of St Margaret at Břevnov (1), into which twelve Italian monks enter. In the year of its foundation the monastery receives, among other gifts, the hilltop church of Chcebuz (2) with two farms and the hill Ostro. As priories of Břevnov we later find named Nezamyslice (3), Kostelec in Bohemia (?), Rajhrad (4) in Moravia, Broumov (5), Police nad Metují (6) near Broumov and Legnickie Pole (7) in Silesia. In Opatovice nad Labem (8) and Podlažice (9), when monasteries are later founded, there are already cells of hermits from Břevnov. The straight line from Rajhrad to Legnickie Pole is sighted over the peaks Děčínský Sněžník, 1114 m high (10) and Szczeliniec Wielki, 919 m high (11).
