THE LARGEST OF the Mogul Gardens are those at Nishat where the photograph opposite was taken. The gardens here are laid out on seven or eight platforms with a central connecting watercourse. It is quite impossible to describe the wonderful beauty of the gardens with their centuries old plane trees, marble pavilions, masses of flowers, and watercourses fed by the melting snows. We visited Nishat Gardens on two occasions: the second in the late evening will he one of the most lasting impressions of the holiday.
